Keith Olbermann Rocks Again!

"The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, prejudices, to be found only in the minds of men.For the record, prejudices can kill and suspicion can destroy, and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all its own -- for the children, and the children yet unborn." Rod Sterling

I am out of here for real this time, but I just read this goosebump causing article and had to post.

  1. Ah.... I listened to this yesterday and it blew me away.

I was so pleased to see someone speak these thoughts, similar to the ones I mumble out loud while reading the paper and or watching the news/press conferences, to the world and to the administration.

As a side note, The Twilight Zone (Serling's show) was such a deep television program, at least on a writing level. Serling was ahead of his time in a lot of ways. I recently rewatched a lot of the first two seasons of TV and Serling's screenwriting regarding tough social issues in the 1960's is unmatched by almost anything else from that era.

It doesn't surprise me he would offer a profound quote like this.

I just realized it wasn't Rod Serling, but Rod S(t)erling! Tonight, I feast on humble pie. Sorry for the confusion.

Wow, an amazing article that will no doubt be on my mind for a while. How deflating to think of all that could have been gained had the spirit of bipartisanship truly been upheld, rather than just raped and pillaged for the moment. Loved the Twilight Zone piece, but scary!
