Iran's Next Top Model?

"As a backlash against the ideology imposed by the state and a mutiny against what they were indoctrinated in the schools … the youth are becoming more and more hedonistic."
In my on going effort to try and show people that Iran, or Tehran specifically, is not only the den of religious conservatism that the Western media tries to paint it as, I thought I would post a link to this article. The astute reader would ask, is this type of "hedonistic" rebellion the right direction for a country suffering its twenty eighth year of totalitarian repression, probably not, but I think it shows that the need for art and self-expression will always thrive wherever it is being denied. Some, may view fashion as a superfluous and bourgeois enterprise, but at its core, fashion is a form of art, and the fact that people are taking such risks to promote it, gives me some hope that the embers in Iran are still hot. I am just curious what it will take to ignite the flames to burn down the house of the mullahs once and for all.
