In a Time of Need

Been going through a hard time lately, and this email from an old friend just flet good:

Heh dude---

Sorry to hear that man. It's a tough situation.

I can say I know how you feel. Katy and I have been agonizing over our job situation for the past six months. I am finished with residency on June 30 and she will be done with her postdoc as well. As of now, we don't know what we'll be doing on July 1. We had thought for so long that we would be able to realize our goal of getting to MN, but we still don't both have job offers there. It's been very frsutrating--who would have thought that relocating to Minneapolis would have been so hard?! We do have a back-up plan of staying on in Boston as we both recently were able to get offers but we honestly semi-loathe Boston at this point and would like to leave if possible.

Sounds like just staying on in Qatar for another year (as much as you're probably emotionally finished there) to buy time isn't really an option.

Anyway, no trite verbiage from me about hanging in there, having faith, etc.

All you can do is continue to be a good father, husband, friend, teacher.

Please keep us updated, especially if you're somehow headed to MN next year.

p.s. Alot of the shit you have done the past decade has been inspiring...

The following two lines were just want I needed:
  • All you can do is continue to be a good father, husband, friend, teacher.
  • p.s. Alot of the shit you have done the past decade has been inspiring...
