Let It Enfold You

We are all a bit sick at our house. Tensions are running high and the moods are foul. I am at the keyboard not knowing where to turn.  I turn to where I have turned a million times before. Charles Bukowski comes through again:

Let It Enfold You by Charles Bukowski

either peace or happiness,
let it enfold you

when i was a young man
I felt these things were
dumb, unsophisticated.

upbringing.

  1. i hear ya- hubby and i have been under the weather- headaches and whatnot. on the plus side, i have started baking my own bread- when i get a good sour dough recipe going- i will send it to you :) that way you can use it in anything and for anything that requires dough- and you don't have to buying yeast to put in. i researched some local organic farms around here within half hour or so for meat, poultry, etc. and am waiting to hear back from them- and i will be planning garden stuff for next season over the winter in order to plant in the spring :) you just keep plugging away bz. just keep putting one foot in front of the other. namaste.

    Ya, mercury retrograde and all...

    But ol Chinaski comes through. Thanks for sharing, I hadn't read this one. It's good to hear in his words how he got from one place to the other. I've only read his work from either side (the really bad, or the really good) but haven't come across much where he talks about the transition from one to the other.

  5. "freinds"? "emptey"? "greivances"?

    FYI, the version of that poem that you link to was not the real poem. It was typed in by a dyslexic. Here's one with far fewer mistakes:

    As a certain someone I know might say, critically evaluating the quality of online texts is an important skill for 21st century literacy. :)

  7. BZ -

    Yeah, sorry, for some unknown reason this week I decided to plaster your blog with angry comments. Pent-up pre-election tension, is my theory. I'll stop.
