most of us have issues
with miracles
or maybe it’s just me,
but all we really need
is a healthy dose
of live music.

even in pandemic times.
especially in pandemic times.

listen for the drum fills
wow, her voice is just what we needed
what’s he doing with his pinky on the third fret
of that d chord?

feet tapping,  
community,
applause,
a journey to that place
we all belong.

familiar songs
sung in shared
consciousness.  

most of us have issues

when we really shouldn’t
in the presence
of stages
and bands
and friends
and the phenomenon
of vibrating strings
rhythm
and the manipulation
of a few simple notes,
made a new
every time
someone chooses
to sing
and we choose to listen.
