a mediocre tangerine
can be perfect with
the right attitude.
the intent of a sentence
understood even
when smeared with typos.
the path toward justice
spans lifetimes and unwanted
mistakes and reversals.
my mother told me about a movie
she saw during our weekly call- it was about
a teacher helping students through
writing. i’m sure she felt it was relevant.
i proceeded to explain in farsi
the nature of the white saviour trope.
how can we ever really understand
the impact of our existence
when blinded by intent.
a mediocre tangerine
can be perfect with
the right attitude.
the one i just ate
fulfilled its purpose
which is more than
i can say about myself.
