only fragile
things on the mind:
glass. egg shells. relationships.
needing to be tended
cuddled. swaddled. held tight.
only strong
things on the mind:
bones. beaks. spirits.
needing to take us to flight.
the end of a day
like the outline
of a birthday wish
made as the smoke
clears, leaving the
promise of tomorrow.
